McBreen Environmental

The newly redesigned McBreen environmental website

Amy has recently launched a newly redesigned website for McBreen Environmental, one of Ireland's leading waste management and drainage specialists, delivering a modern, user-friendly experience built around how their customers actually search and get in touch.

The previous website had been in place for a number of years and, while it had served the business well, it had become outdated in both design and functionality. With over 20 years of experience and depots across Cavan, Roscommon, Dublin, Louth and Cork, McBreen had grown considerably — and the old site no longer reflected the scale or breadth of what they offer. The brief was clear: modernise the design, make services easier to find, and give the team far greater control over the site day to day.

Separating Domestic and Commercial Services

One of the biggest changes in the redesign was splitting McBreen's domestic and commercial offerings into their own dedicated sections, each functioning almost like its own site.

Previously, homeowners looking to unblock a drain and businesses needing large-scale tankering or compliance services were funnelled through the same pages. The new structure gives each audience a clear, tailored journey from the moment they land. A homeowner is guided straight to services like drain unblocking, septic tanks and home water systems, while business customers find drainage, tankering, compliance and infrastructure services laid out for them.

The reasoning is simple: a homeowner and a facilities manager have very different needs, and asking them to sift through irrelevant content is the fastest way to lose them. Giving each its own space also strengthens search visibility, as the site can now rank for both domestic and commercial queries rather than competing with itself.

A Smarter, More Responsive Experience

The new website has been designed with speed and ease of use at its core.

Key improvements include:

  • Clear, audience-led navigation

  • Quick actions for fast access to the most needed services

  • A contact form on every service heading

  • An improved mobile and desktop experience

Customers can now move through the site with ease and reach the right service in just a few steps, rather than hunting through a single crowded menu.

Introducing an AI Chatbot

A key feature of the new site is the introduction of an AI-powered chatbot.

Available around the clock, the chatbot helps point customers towards the right service, answers common questions, and captures enquiries even outside business hours. For a business that offers 24/7 emergency response, this matters — a blocked drain or an overflowing tank rarely waits for office hours. The chatbot works alongside live chat and the on-page contact forms, giving customers several easy ways to get help depending on how urgent their situation is.

Building Trust at Every Step

The redesigned site places real emphasis on reassurance, with trust signals woven throughout.

Customer reviews, accreditations and McBreen's award-winning reputation are now featured prominently across the site. For a service people often call in a stressful moment, seeing that others have had a good experience does a lot of the convincing. Paired with quick-action buttons and live chat, these signals help turn a worried visitor into a confident enquiry.

Built on WIX Studio for Easier Management

As part of the redesign, Amy moved the site to WIX Studio, a platform that gives the McBreen team far greater control over their own content.

This was a deliberate choice. WIX Studio lets the team make edits, update services, and keep information current without needing to come back to us for every small change. The benefit is twofold: McBreen stays agile and self-sufficient, and the site is far more likely to stay accurate and up to date over time. The platform also provides a flexible foundation that can scale alongside the business.

Ongoing Collaboration

Amy continues to work with McBreen Environmental on the ongoing maintenance and development of the website, ensuring it remains up to date, secure, and optimised for performance as the business grows.

Final Thoughts

The launch of the new McBreen Environmental website marks a significant step forward in their digital presence.

With a modern design, separate journeys for domestic and commercial customers, an AI chatbot, stronger trust signals, and a platform the team can manage themselves, the site now better reflects what McBreen do best — responsive, nationwide environmental and drainage services backed by two decades of experience.
