Key Insights from The CUBE's AI Sustainability Talk at CO:WORX

Here at Opus Web Design, we love learning new things, especially when it comes to tech that can help make things better, for our clients and for the planet. That’s why our team members, Amy and Saran, were really happy to pop along to the AI Sustainability talk put on by The CUBE at CO:WORX recently.

It was a brilliant session and got us thinking a lot about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and doing things sustainably can connect. With all the big changes in technology these days, and everyone knowing we need to look after our environment, figuring out how AI and sustainability can team up is super important.

Why AI and Sustainability Matter to Us (and You)

As a web design company, we see how fast things change online. AI is already shaking up how businesses work and how people use websites. At the same time, being sustainable isn't just a buzzword anymore; it's a key part of being a good business.

For us at Opus Web Design, this is all pretty exciting. We see lots of good ways these things can work together:

  • Smarter Websites: Using AI to help make websites run better and faster, which means they use less energy.

  • Greener Web Design: Looking at how AI can help us design and build websites in ways that are kinder to the planet.

  • Better for Users: Using AI to help create websites that are easy for everyone to use, is a big part of being sustainable!

Events like the one The CUBE organised give us great ideas and help us think about the best ways to design for the future.

Great Insights and What We Learned

Amy and Saran found the talk really eye-opening. It was packed with info on how AI can be used to do good things for the environment and for people. We really believe in learning from experts. The day had some great presentations from people like Adrian Weckler, Professor Michael Dowling, Ramy Ebeid, and Jenna Farrell, who all shared different angles on AI and sustainability. Hearing these fresh ideas gets us excited and helps us keep getting better at what we do.

The chats about how these ideas can be used in the real world, and thinking about doing it all responsibly, were especially interesting.

What’s Next? Putting Ideas into Action

The buzz from the event is still going strong! Amy, Saran, and the rest of us at Opus Web Design are already chatting about the main points and are keen to see how we can use what we learned.

This might mean tweaking how we do things here, giving our clients advice on greener ways to approach their websites, or trying out new tools. We want to make sure we’re building websites that not only look great and work well but are also built with the future in mind.

A Big Thanks!

A huge thank you to The CUBE for organising such an interesting and important event with such great speakers, and to CO:WORX for hosting us all in their space. We’re really excited to keep learning about how AI and sustainability can work together to make a difference.
